If you google “linux powerline” and ask for images you will see lots of examples what can be achieved. We need first to install it and then look for a nice config.
Installation of powerline.
sudo pacman -S powerline powerline-fonts
Open your .bashr and put this code at the bottom.
powerline-daemon -q POWERLINE_BASH_CONTINUATION=1 POWERLINE_BASH_SELECT=1 . /usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/powerline/bindings/bash/powerline.sh
We did not have to load the .bashrc. But you might need to do this. Logging off and on has the same effect.
source .bashrc
If you are changing your config, you might need to reload powerline with
powerline-daemon --replace
