Thunar update gives an extra option in settings to permanently delete data

Two weeks ago we received an update of Thunar 1.8.2.

As of now we have an option in Thunar to set the preferences / behavior /context menuĀ  to either show action to permanently delete files and folders or not.

This will result in a red icon being there in your context menu of thunar (right mouse click).

It will permanently delete elements on your system and will BYPASS the trash.

You can bypass the trash as well with SHIFT + DELETE.

Use it for very large files like iso’s and virtual box folders that contain a complete operating system.

In the image above you can see the settings.

Depending on your current system, the desktop or your personal preference you now will either see the red icon or not.

We assume you have Sardi icons on – hence the red trashcan icon.
